Downy Mildew

THE IMPACT ON IMPATIENS

We are re-introducing impatiens into our growing season.

There continues to be no cure for the downy mildew problem. But some customers have not had a problem were as others have. We are treating our plants to the specification from MSU. The program is in theory supposed to help the plants be resistance for about 6-8 weeks. Using fresh clean potting soil in flower beds and containers has helped some customers in the past.

We watched impatiens growing last summer is several places. Some in window boxes, containers. we even noticed beds of them at homes and golf courses. All seemed to do well for the most part. A few that did not make it the full season, however some did last until late August.

So at this time we are providing the product for customers to try at their own risk.
